I have been recently blessed by being able to purchase a new Nikon D90 camera with a Nikon Nikkor 18-200mm lens. I have only had it for a week and have been going out trying some different techniques. I have made my way from the San Clemente beach and through Camp Pendleton Marine base so far.

Without going into a deep long-winded review, this camera/lens combo is amazing. The zoom and image stabilization have helped me capture helicopters flying past with the ability to see the pilots face very crisply (at full resolution). That being said, these next months are going to be quite the adventure.

The photos in this first batch include photos on my miniature schnauzer Mia Bella, my grandmother, the T-Street beach in San Clemente and the lookout point just off of the I-5 S through Camp Pendleton. Enjoy.

My wife and I recently went on a 5-day Carnival cruise to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We did not have any prearranged plans going into it, just open minds. We Love to travel together and know that no matter what we do, we always have a good time. We have been to Mexico in the past but never to Cabo San Lucas and never on a cruise.

This being our first ever cruise we were ready for a whole new experience together. With a never ending food supply, entertainment and fun people we had a blast! Wen ended up being seated with two really fun couples near our age that we spent the rest of the cruise with.

We had a blast soaking in the sun, eating lobster and unbelievable amounts of tacos for the whole 5-days. We visited all of the tourist attractions and spent a good half day in the Cabo Wabo VIP booth.

Because Mexico is a classic paradise I thought I would put together a vintage photo pack for the trip. Enjoy.

Back in April my wife and I took a trip to Palm Springs, California which has been an almost annual trip each year for a few reasons. With a family timeshare at the Oasis Resort in the heart of the city and the fact that it is so close to where we live, it is a nice little getaway. We went with another couple this year and had a blast. We lounged by the pool, rode some beach cruiser bikes, played tennis, took the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to the top and consumed one too many adult beverages. All in all it was a great trip and we have some good photos to prove it!

Last weekend I went with my father to go help my uncle Ray with some home repairs. He is trying to make a few changes before he sells his house and heads for the hills. I am a very outdoor person and active but all of my life I have avoided getting a labor job for a reason. When you see how tired a person gets after 20 years of hard labor you will realize it’s a smart choice. This doesn’t mean I can’t lend a hand when people need it.

We originally thought we were going to do some drywall patchwork but found out very quickly we would be doing much more! My father ended up patching an open area that used to house a two-story indoor palm tree. By the time he was done I am confident that two 400lb women could play jump rope on top of it without any problems.

In early March Sara and I went with Bailey, Roshi and their son Kaden to the Wild Animal Park and we had a blast.

Out of the hundreds of photos I will only post a few, although I have to say it made for an interesting day using an DSLR instead of your regular old point and shoot. I was using a Nikon D80 with decent zoom and was able to walk away with some beautiful photos of the rolling tour through the back hills.

My favorite animal to watch had to be the Gorilla. We saw everything from food fights to fist fights and loved every minute of it. Enjoy the photos!

I was going through some old photos and saw some of Mia Bella my Miniature Schnauzer when she was a puppy. A few days after we bought her from the the breeder my wife and I were coaxed to bring over Mia Bella right away so they could see how cute she was. A few hours and 200 photos later I have these wonderful memories to remember.

I think that the best part about these photos is the fact that she has the orange guerrilla toy to this day and still loves it just as much. We were lucky to have had 3 of them because she had torn through the cheap plastic fairly easy once she got rid of her puppy teeth.

I walked through the parking lot up to a small bench around 50 feet from the rail road tracks overlooking the pier. There is just something so relaxing about sitting at the beach. I don’t know if it’s the sights or the sounds that capture me but I am a true lover of the beach.
